Mangosteen juice with Xanthones and Antioxidants

We are happy to announce that we now have Xansiam Mangosteen Juice in stock! This is a potent juice with high levels of Xanthones and Antioxidants – you can find it in our store here:

Here are just a couple of things recently said about Mangosteen Juice…

The mangosteen juice has had more of an affect on the entire body, than any other single supplement aht I’ve ever used. My patients have seen results with conditions ranging from allergies, arthritis, to digestive issues.” – Dr. Dak R. Fike (Powell, WY)

I’m a board certified Internal Medicine physician who has practiced wellness and preventitive medicine for over 25 years. For the last 10 years I have used more alternative and complimentary as well as mind body medicine, because of the significant beneficial results with dramatically reduced side effects and costs. After finding mangosteen juice and the independent scientific research this is the most excited I’ve been in 25-30 years about the potential to help people around the world!” – Dr. Les Brenson (Seattle, WA)

Please get in touch via our contact page if you have any questions.

Launched: Thailand’s online vitamin and supplement store

We’re happy to announce that Vitamins Thailand has officially launched.  We’re in the processes of obtaining the correct licenses so that we are able to offer the vitamins which are classified by the Thai FDA as ‘drugs’. In the mean time, feel free to check out our current vitamin range which will be adding to in the near future. You will also be able to find food supplements such as whey protein, weight gainers, fat loss, l-carnitine, creatine, glutamine and bcaa’s.

We’d love to hear any feedback regarding our online store, please feel free to get in touch via our contact page or by leaving a comment here.

Vitamins Thailand moving to dedicated hosting…

Due to some issues with Go-daddy hosting we decided to move to a dedicated server hosted domestically within Thailand…this unfortunately means delaying Vitamins Thailand launch date, but we thought the move was important to improve the user experience, and we wanted to do it before the site was live in order to avoid any complications.

Our system administrator has been working tirelessly over the weekend configuring the server and adding the required security features (thanks David!), and now most of the site components have been successfully transferred to the new server…we’re happy to report that initial tests show the performance (when accessing within Thailand) has substantially improved.

We still have some final testing to perform and a few additional products to be added to the store – after that we will be ready to launch!

Thai consumers – the world’s biggest consumers of Vitamin/Dietary Supplements?

That’s right, according to a 2009 report by The Nielsen Company, Thai consumers top the world as the biggest consumers of Vitamin/Dietary Supplements, with 66 percent claiming to use them and half (33%) using them on a daily basis.

Why do Thai’s take vitamins? According to the report the top 3 responses were; “to get a boost to their immune system”, “to cover for a known diet deficiency” and “to ensure my diet is balanced“, but only 4% of those participants were convinced by their pharmacist or health food retailer and only 9% claiming to use due to doctors advice.

Of those participating in the survey, the reasons given for not taking vitamins/dietary supplements was either “they did not see any need for them“, “they already had a balanced diet” or “the products are too expensive“.

If only 13% of those taking a vitamin/dietry supplement are receiving advice from a pharmacist, health food retailer or doctor, how are the other 87% of the population deciding what vitamins and supplements their body needs?

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a wealth of information on this topic available in Thailand, and the choice of products on offer is often limited. At Vitamins Thailand, we hope to address both these issues by providing you with all the information you need about a product in order to make an informed decision whether it’s right for you. Once you’ve read enough and made your choice, you’ll be able to purchase vitamins and supplements at competitive prices directly via our online store…and we’ll send them to you for FREE!

We thought it might be a good idea to setup a blog to keep everyone up to date with the latest Vitamins Thailand status updates, as well as information about new products as we add them to our catalogue.

The current plan is to launch on the 15th of March, however this may be delayed slightly as we’ve been having some hosting issues which we want to make sure are all resolved before opening.

Product update: Unfortunately, the Thai FDA classifies many vitamins as drugs, which means a license is required to legally sell these. We’re in the process of applying for the licenses, but until we have them we won’t be able to advertise our full vitamin range…we’ve been told the licensing process will take 30-60 days, but as I’m sure those readers living in Thailand will appreciate, sometimes things here often to take longer than originally thought. In the mean time, you will able to  find fitness supplements (whey protein, BCAA’s, Creatine, etc) and a limited range of vitamins in our catalogue.

For any further information, please do get in touch via our contact page – we’d love to hear from you.
